I've waited some time to find a Heating Engineer like Alec who understood our requirements and didn't immediately want to rush in a Combi Boiler as a Fix-all....He was at pains to make sure all requirements could be met and we agreed to go ahead with a Priority Hot Water system on a System Boiler. This allows quick heating of the Water Cylinder, and then reverts to a Weather Compensated Flow temperature for the Central Heating. This allows the boiler to run at different outputs to maximise efficiency by allowing lower flow temperatures for longer - Enjoyed the interaction, Thoroughly recommended - Thanks again!

How much to install a boiler?

Gas boiler installations from £1,200, oil boilers from £3,000.

What do you mean by ethical?

I mean treating people as I’d like to be treated. Fairly and with respect. If it doesn’t need doing or I make a mistake, then there is no charge.

As an example, a recent job of a boiler installation. The manufacturer wouldn’t cover the repair of the boiler saying the part wasn’t covered in their warranty. I spent 6 hours at the customer’s home and bought the part out of my own pocket. It wasn’t my fault but it wasn’t the customer’s either.

How much is a call out charge?

The first hour is £90, then £30 per half hour. Servicing are fixed cost jobs.

Do you take card payments?

Yes, of course. I have a card reader and I also accept bank transfers.

How long have you done this?

Around 20 years at this point. My first work phone was a nokia and I used an A-Z map book. (I’m not kidding either).

Are you accredited with any manufacturers?

Yes, with Viessmann, Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, and Intergas.
