What Is A System Boiler?
A system boiler heats hot water stored in a steel hot water cylinder. I mean said like that it sounds kind of boring but something amazing happens with this kind of system. Mains pressure hot water. The hot water is just as fast as the cold water so if you have 20 litres per minute of cold water, you’ll have around the same in hot water.
What It Means In Every Day Use
Well, that’s wonderful but that means a bath will fill in around 4 minutes. A shower will run like a power-shower except there is no need for a pump. Do these things last? The cylinder carries a 25-year guarantee so yes, these things last. They need servicing, but anything like this needs an annual service.
What’s The Difference With A System Boiler vs A Combi Boiler?
What about the boiler? Well, it has fewer parts than a combi boiler and is, therefore, more reliable. It can provide both heating and hot water at the same time. We’d always recommend setting the water an hour earlier than the heating to make it easier. It won’t run for the full hour anyway, the cylinder will be hot before then and it will keep the water warm for about 12 hours, so a second or third heating of the hot water will require less and less energy, especially if all the hot water hasn’t been used.
Who Needs A System Boiler?
This is the system used by people who either have very high water pressure or in larger homes with multiple bathrooms.
